Dear Reader,
I am drawing the winners soon for my Travel MVP Giveaway!
On October 16th, two lucky subscribers will win my favorite travel items. It’s not too late to enter or share the chance to win.
What I am giving away
These are items I personally can’t travel without—and I travel a lot. Since bringing these items into my life, they have come with me to:
Montreal, London, Rome, Tuscany, Copenhagen, Ottawa, San Diego, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Napa & Sonoma, Portland (Via Amtrak).
I wanted to highlight a couple of companies that are in my first prize.
- Lunya is a women-owned company born in Los Angeles that sells luxury sleep and loungewear. Their sleep mask is the best I’ve ever used, and I have tried so many!
- Grove Collaborative is a company that focuses on sustainability—biodegradable and recyclable packaging with tons of products in concentrated form- lessening the packaging that goes into landfills. The laundry sheets are perfect for long trips—no liquids, cleans well, and you can rip them into smaller pieces for handwashing.
Note: These are not affiliate links. I am purchasing all of the products myself for the prizes.
See the prizes below or watch the reel here.
Share with your friends by forwarding this email and having them sign up for the newsletter. https://kristenfungtravels.kit.com/43bb76f426

Why am I doing this?
I love connecting people with small businesses around the world, but I feel so limited on social media. Chasing the algorithm is so hard, and I have so much information to share, but I know no one sees it unless you are glued to Instagram or check my profile every day. I need to bring more people toward Out of Office Curated.
With a newsletter, I can share:
- Links without being penalized (My favorite!)
- That just got off a webinar for a tour company in Spain that curates unique local experiences—hiking in the mountains near Barcelona that ends in a meal cooked by a world-class chef, for example. The minimums per day to work with them are the best I have seen. (Believe me, you can afford it.)
- My growing list of hotels that my clients love—from boutique gems to affordable chains that make you feel special even if you aren’t a luxury traveler.
- The small business owners I meet around the world who are welcoming and have personality. (Why go halfway around the world to drink Starbucks?)
- City guides that are so full of valuable and surprising information. (Learn from someone who has been there.)
- I’ve received more replies and connected with more people through this newsletter than through any social media post.
I am a great travel resource. Please connect with me. (Reply to this email or use the contact form.)
I hope you keep reading, sharing, and don’t forget to enter to win!

What is EES?
On Sunday, 10/12/25, a new Entry/Exit System will be implemented for travel to the EU by non-EU citizens. This is a mandatory requirement for visiting or laying over in the EU.
What does this mean?
When you enter a participating country (they are slowly rolling this out), you will be directed to a self-serve kiosk to enter the required information. This is like a customs form, but you will also need to scan your fingerprints and your passport.
Since it hasn’t gone into effect yet, I am unsure which questions will be asked. It feels to me a lot like ArriveCan, but with fingerprints.
- You may experience longer lines when entering the EU.
- Check the airport website for the country you are visiting for more information. If there is an app available on that website, download it.
- Sadly, there will no longer be stamping passports.
